Human Trafficking Victim Support Program
Support for victims of human trafficking
DCAF recognizes the growth of human trafficking in our community. Too many youth are being lured into and experiencing exploitation through human trafficking. We are committed to making a difference by providing support and resources to assist with the rescue and rehabilitation for youth involved in human trafficking.

The Children at Risk of Exploitation or CARE Team is a partnership with Durham Children’s Aid Society, Durham Regional Police Service and Dnaagdawenmag Binnoojiiyag Child and Family Services. CARE Team staff work closely with the youth and community partners to support the youth with access to mental health supports and other community resources such as housing, legal and financial assistance.
Working with the Durham Children’s Aid Society Care Team and Victim Services Durham Region, we help by providing financial support for safe shelter and counselling, as well as access to safe technology, clothing, food subsidies and other essential items/services to help assist with rescue and reintegration back in to society.
