Strides for Kids – Happening Now – May 9th to June 10th
Strides for Kids is a virtual exercise a thon that you can participate in from the comfort of your own home or neighbourhood! Join the movement!
Walk, Run, Swim or Cycle your way through an Olympic Host City of your choice. Each city consists of different stride levels so you can reach your goals while supporting DCAF. Raising funds for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programs for children and youth!
Fabulous prizes include:
- Two Air Canada Return Economy Class Tickets to any Air Canada Destination including, Hawaii, Mexico and Caribbean
- VIA Rail Travel Credit valued at $500.00
- Foursome Golf Passes and Lunch at Royal Ashburn Golf Club

Anushka – Child Author of The Magic Mirror
At the age of 8, Anushka has written and published her first book, The Magic Mirror. Author David Carter has written an amazing story – In My Mother’s Home
David Carter has released his first and only book titled, In My Mother’s Home. Based on actual real life events, it describes the trials of a young person who is faced with struggles associated with child abuse.

Own Your Story – Exciting News for 2022 Coming Soon
Meghan Ney from For The Herd Stories presented this incredible initiative that generated over $5700 in support for horseback riding. Funds are providing horseback riding lessons for children in care and mental health programs for children.

Refa’s Thrift Closet
The mission of Refa’s Thrift Closet is to “provide lightly loved clothing to families in need”. be sure to visit Refa’s at the Courtice Flea Market. A percentage of sales are donated regularly in support of DCAF Mental Health Programs. These programs will assist children and youth in our community. Refa’s also completes Currency for Kids pick-ups from Bowmanville to Brampton.
Consider hosting an in person or virtual event in support of Durham Children’s Aid Foundation. Your imagination and innovation could create an amazing first time event. DCAF has event templates and guides to assist with the planning of your event. Third Party Events do make a difference in the lives of children and youth. Please stay safe!
