The Durham Children’s Aid Foundation raises
funds through various programs and events.
The money raised benefits children and youth involved
with Durham Children’s Aid Society. The
funds are dedicated to seven key areas, each providing
help in different but essential ways.
It is because of the support of the community
that we have been able to start extending a helping

These programs may seem small, but they can have
a huge impact on a child or youth.
Your support will go a long way
in helping to build a future for our children
in care. It is because of community support that:
- In 2010, 36 youth received bursaries to pursue
their dream of post-secondary education in a
university, college or skilled trades program (up from 9 bursaries in 2006).
- During the summer of 2010, 394 children living at home had
a summer camp adventure.
- Numerous children were supported in their
efforts to participate in various recreation,
enrichment and skill development programs such
as: organized sports, music lessons and after
school activities.
Your support will help the
Durham Children’s Aid Foundation turn hope
into a reality, uncertainty into stability, challenge
into triumph, and adversity into opportunity.
