Children's Aid Societies receive no funding for prevention initiatives, but many agencies recognize its importance, and have dedicated resources to it. Through the Children's Aid Foundation we can contribute to the success of these initiatives.
We know that helping families when they need help, rather than waiting until a child is hurt, is much more effective and healthy for everyone involved. Raising a child is the most difficult job one ever has, and we encourage parents to reach out if they need help.
Every October we join many other Children's Aid Societies and Foundations on the Child Abuse Prevention Campaign. This annual campaign uses the purple ribbon to raise awareness about the need for everyone in our communities to be a part of the effort to stop child abuse.
